Annual Photo and Sketch Competition 2008

When taking your holiday pictures, don't forget to submit the very best for the annual AAC Competition.

Annual Photo and Sketch Competition Rules

1. This competition is open to ALL members of the AAC (UK). Pictures must have been taken between 1 January and 31 December 2008 inclusive.

2. Entries may be, Prints, Slides, Sketches or high resolution digital images.

  • Sketches and Prints should be unmounted and the maximum size of any one side should not exceed 10”.
  • Slides should be 35mm mounted in standard 2”x2” mounts.
  • Digital Images: photographs taken with a digital camera may be submitted on a CD (NOT sent as e-mail attachments) at the highest resolution possible.

3. All entries must have;

  • Authors Name and Address and AAC membership number.
  • The category entered, and a title for the picture.

4. Entrants may enter

  • up to two photographs (slides/digi images or prints or both) and
  • up to two sketches per section.

5. Sections are;

  • Landscape: preference will be given to mountainous or remote areas.
  • People: companions in the mountains or locals of the region.
  • Nature: flora and fauna - shot on location
  • Typical Austria, anything you feel representative of Austria
  • First Time Entrants: from any of the above classes

6. There will be a winner for each section, plus a number of merits at the judges discretion. There will be an overall winner for the best picture in the competition.

7. Judges may also make an award to their personal best picture, which has not won in any category. Winners of the competition may be invited to be a Judge in next year’s competition.

8. It is a condition of entry that winners allow their image to be used by the AAC(UK) for publicity in the newsletter, on AAC(UK) cards or on the website.
