Alpenverein Digital Maps of the Eastern Alps

DVD of Alpenverein Maps of the Eastern Alps with 3D animation

This 2007 edition of Alpenvereinskarten Digital (Digital Alpenverein Maps) replaces the 2004 edition: 2 CD set of Alpenverein Maps of the Eastern Alps.

All 49 Alpine maps shown on the Overview Map above are included on the DVD

  • Both the 1:25,000 and 1:50,000 scale maps are included.
  • Can be opened and viewed by selection from an on-screen "overview map" (shown above) with linking to adjacent maps. 
  • Mouse co-ordinates shown in either UTM or Latitude/Longitude.
  • Zooming and scrolling of map extracts is possible, with scale and map legend included.

Innovations to be found in the 2007 DVD edition of Alpenverein Digital Maps

  • 3D display: All of the Eastern Alps AV maps have been fed into a computer model for altitude.  You can make an altitude profile, and with the help of the 3D – flight simulation you can 'fly' through the landscape on the map.
  • Gazetteer with Search Function: A data bank of 34,000 geographical names allows you to quickly find a place on the relevant map.
  • Ski Tours: More than 1,900 Ski tours are stored on the Disc and can be downloaded direct to a GPS(Garmin) or a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant).  A 3D flight along the routes is also possible.
  • PDA & GPS: Many possibilities once you have mastered the applications on your PC.

  • PC with Intel Pentium IV 1,2 GHz Minimum  512Mb memory (1024Mb recommended)
  • Graphics card with Microsoft Direct x9.0 (or higher) with 64MB RAM ("True Colour" graphics desirable)
  • Screen Resolution minimum 1,024 x 768 pixels
  • 5Gb free disk storage
  • DVD-Reader
  • Operating System: Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP (XP recommended)
  • Mac and Linux not supported

  • Pocket PC 2003, 2003 second edition, Windows Mobile 5
  • Processor: Xscale or StongARM
  • Display: 320 x 240 or 640 x 480, no special support for quadrate display
  • Memory: 64Mb
  • SD card recommended
